Conditions We Treat

Rosacea & Spider Veins

Spider veins occur in both men and women, usually on the legs and ankles. Laser vein therapy is a non-surgical, non-invasive approach to restoring clear, even-toned skin.

Understanding rosacea and spider veins

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that causes persistent redness, visible blood vessels, and sometimes small bumps on the face, particularly the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead. It often flares up in cycles, triggered by factors like sun exposure, stress, hot drinks, spicy foods, and temperature changes. Left untreated, rosacea can progressively worsen over time.

Spider veins, also known as telangiectasias, are small clusters of red, blue, or purple blood vessels that become visible through the skin's surface. While they most commonly appear on the legs and ankles, they can also develop on the face. Spider veins affect both men and women and become more common with age, prolonged standing, hormonal changes, and genetic predisposition.

Both conditions can significantly impact self-confidence. Many people with rosacea feel self-conscious about their persistent facial redness, while spider veins on the legs can make people reluctant to wear shorts or skirts. The good news is that modern laser treatments can effectively address both conditions without surgery, needles, or significant downtime.

How We Treat It

Recommended treatments

Laser Vein Therapy (Full Body)

Using the Cynosure Elite IQ, this non-surgical treatment delivers targeted laser energy to heat and coagulate visible spider veins anywhere on the body, including the legs, ankles, and face. The laser light is absorbed by the hemoglobin in the blood vessel, causing it to coagulate and gradually fade from view. Surrounding tissue is left unharmed. Most spider veins respond well within one to three sessions, and treated veins are permanently eliminated as the body naturally reabsorbs them.

IPL Photo Facial (Face Only)

Using the Venus Versa, Intense Pulsed Light targets the underlying vascular component that causes chronic facial redness and visible spider veins. The broad-spectrum light energy is absorbed by hemoglobin in dilated blood vessels, heating and coagulating them so they gradually fade from view. IPL is particularly effective for rosacea, reducing both diffuse redness and individual broken capillaries across the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead. Patients typically see progressive improvement over a series of treatments, with skin becoming calmer, smoother, and more even-toned. Please note that IPL is not suitable for all skin tones. A consultation is required to determine if this treatment is right for you.
